What Happens Now

Well I am keeping it up on blogging and had a hard time deciding as what to post on here tonight because I had a couple of different ideas.

You might be wondering what the title has to do with this post

" What Happens Now"

Well the other day at work a co-worker of mine approached me and asked "So you're married, what now?" and this got me thinking, what happens after the wedding, after the honeymoon???? Well I thought I would give everyone an update on what is going on with Joe and Me!!!

A Joe Update:
-Joe is working very long hours right now on multiple projects at KJWW. Although I miss him at night I have a great admiration for his dedication to his work.
-In the Next six months Joey will be studying for his PE-Professional Engineering Licence. This is big in the engineering world and I cant wait to burn the midnight oil studying with him.
-Joe is becoming Mr. Fix it. As any homeowner would tell you, there is always something to fix in your house. Well since the wedding has come and gone we are moving onto our house. Our bathroom is getting completely torn out in the next few weeks and re-done. I promise I will do before and after pictures.
-Joe is starting obedience school with Wrigley, our chocolate lab.
-The softball season is coming to an end but Joe has weekly basketball games to look forward to.

An Erin Update:
-Work is going well for me. After October I will be hitting the ground with the recruitment cell to various places in the United States. This is something that I love from my job, getting to see this wonderful country
-I am starting another blog, yes and it has been occupying my time. This blog will be more developed and I hope that you will check it out. I plan to reveal the name and web address SOON.
-I belong to a volunteer group called Junior League and I am chairing our fall fundraiser which is a wine/beer tasting. If you know me this is a very enjoyable thing.
-I am working on my children's book. I am finishing the manuscript and will begin sending it out to literary agents.
-I am becoming Mrs. Fix-It, well maybe I shouldn't go that far, more like paint, finish, and decor wifey. The bathroom adventure has me nervous but I felt better after the contractor said "I know what you want- SPA LIKE"

Well hopefully that sums up the question of "What Happens Now?"

D-M-B @Wrigley Field

Thank goodness the sunshine is back and I am blogging for the second day in the row, I know this is not a big accomplishment but I will take whatever I can.

Ok, So this past weekend Joey and I headed to Chicago. I swear there is an energy about that city like no other- I will always love that place.
We started off in Lakeview which is right next Wrigleyville with some dinner and drinks with great people!!!!

IT was a great concert, the weather was perfect, and Wrigley Field is an excellent place for a concert. I love having these opportunities to spend time with family. Our family is who we are!

Saturday guess who joined me for some shopping. . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . .

Madeline Jane, I took this while at a stop light I just had to she was jamming to the music, I love her spirit!

Something to Warm You Soul

Doesnt that look yummy???

Hope all my fellow Bloggers are doing well and you had a great weekend.

We had a great weekend and I will be posting about it this week.
I am challenging myself to post everyday this week, lets see if I can make it happen.

Since the past couple of days have gotten cold. I was looking for something warm to make for dessert that made me feel like fall.

I found this great recipe by Sandra Lee from the Food Network

Individual Blackberry Cobbler

2 Pounds frozen blackberries
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons instant tapioca
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 packet butter biscuit mix (bisquick)
3/4 cup cream soda

Directions

Preheat oven 350- Spray ramekins with non stick spray. In a bowl combine frozen blackberries, tapioca, lemon juice, 1/4 cup cream soda, sugar. Stir together and transfer to ramekins.

In a large bowl combine biscuit mix and remaining cream soda, mix until blended, top blackberry mix with biscuit mixture. Sprinkle sugar on top of biscuit mix. Bake 30 to 40 minutes.

Serve Warm.

Hope you enjoy.

Honeymoon Journal and Pics-Part 3

AHHH the warm weather has gone away and the cold, rain and wind has arrived!!!!!!!!

I am in on this Saturday night so I decided to conclude our Honeymoon updates with a list of stuff from St. Lucia rather than my journal entries and the pics. Hope you enjoy.
St. Lucian's speak French but teach English in the schools, children learn French at home and in their villages.
Snorkeling was BEAUTIFUL the coral reefs and the fish are something that I could see everyday
I think I know how Tina Turner got great arms, KAYAKING, oh my goodness after a few days of this I was SORE.
WE ARE COMING BACK SOMEDAY
WE HAVE BEEN BITTEN BY THE TRAVELING BUG.
Although we didn't win at poolside Bingo we had some very good laughs.
Having your villa cleaned every morning and fridge re-stocked everyday makes it hard to get back to reality.
The non-active volcano natural mud bath rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE ARE COMING BACK SOMEDAY!!!!!!
We missed our families for sure
Going to the pool never gets old
WE ARE COMING BACK SOMEDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a great time and are getting back to reality and feel so lucky to have had this opportunity to spend quality time with each other as our journey begins.

Honeymoon Journal and Pics- Part 2

Hello Bloggers,

Aren't you loving this weather, it is an Indian Summer.

Here is another follow-up to the first post about our Honeymoon.

August 27th Journal Entry
Another Surprise arrived this morning while I was swimming in our pool (pictured above) breakfast- Mr. Haluska is one sneaky guy. The breakfast was delicious and the weather is perfect. When we were done with breakfast and walking down to the pool Joe took me to another surprise and that was the Spa. We had lined up a couples massage for us. This was Joe's first massage and I think he enjoyed it. Not as much as me though, I am a spa junkie and could go everyday. When we arrived back at the pool we made our first trip to the swim-up-bar I started off with a pink lady, which has strawberries, bananas, and rum very yummy. Joe wanted to stay native to St. Lucia and stuck with the Piton beer. We spent the entire day at the pool. For lunch we had an outdoor lunch at the Greek restaurant. It was very yummy I tried grape leafs, which was the only time I tried them. This night we headed to Italian restaurant Armando's we tried lots of different wine and ate some delicious pasta. Our first day was amazing. We have been bitten by the travel bug.

Honeymoon Journal and Pics

Hello Bloggers,

As many of you know Joe surprised me during our first dance and told me where we were going on our honeymoon. . . . . ST. LUCIA

I tried to journal everyday while we were there so I could save it an read back on it in the years to come. I hope you enjoy it
Day #1
August 25th
Well our journey has began this morning with arriving in Naperville. We picked up lunch from a new sandwich shop called Jersey Mike's and then headed back to Mom's to eat and relax until our ride came to pick us up. The ride arrived at 3:15 we then got to O'Hare and got checked in after we found our gate we went to the Macaroni Grill in the airport to split a pizza and some cold brewsky's. Our flight was smooth and we were greeted with the humidity of Miami when we got outside. Tomorrow morning we have an early morning flight to ST. LUCIA , I cant wait I can hardly sleep.

Day 2
August 26th
Well guess who we saw this morning at the Miami Airport when we were going through security, Shawni O' Neil- Shaq's ex-wife. She saw my sweatsuit and wished us congratulations on our marriage, I asked her if she had any marriage advice and her advice for me was to "keep it fresh, keep it hot" we laughed about it. On our flight I to St. Lucia I couldn't keep my eyes open, but about 30 minutes before we touched down Joey woke me up so I wouldn't miss of the beautiful mountains. Our flight was filled with many natives of St. Lucia. They speak a mixture of french creole and it is so pretty. When we landed and got through immigration Joey had my first surprise waiting for me, a private car and driver for the week. Most people get on a bus with all the couple but Mr. Haluska does it first class all the way. Our drivers name was Bobby and he did an excellent job telling us about the country on our hour drive to the resort. He had a cooler in the car with cold Piton beer which is made in St. Lucia. Joey took an immediate liking to it. When we arrived at the resort they had cold towels and champagne waiting for us. They took us to our villa which was beautiful and to our surprise we had our own pool. After we got situated in our room we headed down to one of the 15 restaurants on the resort an Irish Pub we got some food and drinks and took a walk on the beach, we also went in the jacuzzi that night. We took another walk on the beach and the tide had gotten bigger and swept our shoes away but we were able to scoop them up. We called it an early night because Joey said we had a big day ahead of us tomorrow- I wonder what that could be????????
Stay tuned!

Wedding Video

Hello Bloggers,

Hope you had a great holiday weekend with family and friends. I was so glad the sun came out today- I know summer is coming to an end and I want to soak up all the warm sunshine that I can.

Here is the link to our wedding video that our photographer created, I couldnt be happier with it:

THANK YOU SO MUCH TREE IT IS BEAUTIFUL and caught so many special memories.

We're Back

Hello,

It feels like forever since I have blogged or caught up on all the blogs that I follow. I can assure you of this though, this week you will be tired of all the updates on Turner's Take.

The Wedding:
It was a dream come true. Our family and friends surrounded us with love and it was felt by all that attended. Yesterday we got the video and the pictures back so I will be getting those up soon. A very large thank you to Candi Bengston, Kim Haluska, and Shellie Haluska who did all the set-up the day of the wedding. It took my breath away and I felt like it all came together so beautifully THANK YOU SO MUCH. Secondly a big thank you to all of our families for being there. Family is extremely important to Joe and I and it wouldn't of been complete without each and everyone of you.

The Honeymoon:
ST. LUCIA rocked the house!!!! It was beautiful I journals for the entire trip and will be doing a post with pictures and info soon. This was our first time traveling together and it went really well. Joe did all the planning and I have to give it up to him he hit a home run. Since being on this trip we have been bitten by the travel bug.

Back to Reality Now:
We are getting home for good today. When we returned from our honeymoon we headed to Albia to celebrate Joey's nana's birthday with her so today we will be unpacking our suitcases for good. While we were gone on our honeymoon we received some sad news. Joey's cousin Angie is engaged to a man named Noah, he was in a boating accident and passed away unexpectedly. Our hearts break for Angie and his girls. When Noah walked into a room he made everyone feel like they were his friend, and had a smile that could make anyone smile. We will miss him dearly and are grateful for him touching our lives with his wonderful presence.
