Weekend at Grandpa and Grandma's

Good Morning,

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!
This past weekend we headed to Indianola to spend time with Grandpa and Grandma Zanoni and Joey's sister Kelsey who was home for a wedding.

We had a great time!! On Saturday the three of us were able to get to Des Moines and do some shopping and have a nice lunch at Jordan Creek!!!

Harper's new favorite thing to do and that is to kiss back when you are kissing her!! We all LOVED it this weekend!!!

Paula Sands Apperance

Last week I was asked to appear on a local afternoon show that is called Paula Sands Live. It is a 30 show that features different segments here in the Quad Cities.

The segment that was being featured from on the show was about Time Spent: Quality vs Quantity. I am sure if you are a mom you can relate to this and the daily struggle to have quality time for your children, your husband and yourself!

It was a true pleasure and I am excited that they have decided to pick us up for monthly appearances.

Harper's Baptism

A few weeks ago we had Harper Baptized and a party following for any family that could attend, It was a beautiful celebration and a scared event for Harper girl.



We had Harper baptized after the 430 mass on a Saturday night. The baptism took about 25 minutes and the Deacon did a wonderful job making it interactive for the entire family to take place.

The Menu:
Appetizers
-wonton cups
-veggies and dip
-bruschetta

-7 bean salad
-homemade herb bread
-7 layer salad
-lasagna
-chicken and cheese casserole

Dessert
-pink champagne cake with strawberry buttercream frosting
-whoppers
-suckers
-chocolate and caramel truffles





I tried to keep the decorations simple with a color scheme of pink, gray, and white. Pinterest is a great source for easy decor and table settings!





Aren't the pictures great???? It was such a blessing that on this busy day I didnt have to pick up my camera and worry about capturing every moment, ,instead Kendra took all the pictures for me. THANKS!

4 Months

Guess who is 4 months old already???

Harper Regina is!!!!

I really cant believe it has been 4 months since we welcomed out little girl into this girl, she changes everyday and shows that our love for her grows everyday.

Weight: 13lbs 13oz (50% she has been in the 25% so this was a big jump for her)

Height 25 1/2 inches long (90th%)

The doctor says she is going to be "a tall girl"

She had three shots at her appointment last Friday and they went ok. I think they are harder on the Momma in the room than Harper girl.

Clothes: she is in 6 month clothing and moving onto 9 months soon.

Sleeping: She is a great sleeper. We recently got a swing so she takes some of her naps in that. For nighttime when it is her bedtime we give her kisses tell her goodnight, god bless, and we love you. Then I cover her with her blanket and head out of the room. She typically talks to herself for a few minutes then she falls alseep. I am so proud of her for doing so well with this new tranisiton of puttihng herself to sleep.She sleeps through the night and wakes up around 7-730ish

Eating: She eats 6 t o 8oz at a feeding and has cut down on the spitting up. Our dotcor has given us the ok to start ceral in a few weeks! so the high chair is ready to rock n roll!

Some of her favorite things to do: Bath time, hanging out in her swing, having someone read books to her, watching Wrigley walk around the house, and when her dad walks in the door,

25 Rules for Mothers and Daughters

I recently pinned this (I know bif surprises since I ADORE PINTEREST) and I love it
Below is the link to the full 25, today I have just posted a few of my favorite


Paint her nails. Then let her scratch it off and dirty them up. Teach her to care about her appearance, and then quickly remind her that living and having fun is most important.


Be present. Be there for her at her Kindergarten performances, her dance recitals, her soccer games…her everyday-little-moments. When she looks through the crowds of people, she will be looking for your smile and pride. Show it to her as often as possible.





Teach her to be independent. Show her by example that woman can be strong. Find and follow your own passions. Search for outlets of expression and enjoyment for yourself- not just your husband or children. Define yourself by your own attributes, not by what others expect you to be. Know who you are as a person, and help your daughter find out who she is.



Give her good role models- you being one of them. Introduce her to successful woman- friends, co-workers, doctors, astronauts, or authors. Read to her about influential woman- Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosa Parks, Marie Curie. Read her the words of inspirational woman- Jane Austen, Sylvia Plath, Emily Dickinson. She should know that anything is possible.



 Love her father. Teach her to love a good man, like him. One who lets her be herself…she is after all wonderful.

31 Days of Prayers for our Children

A friend of mine recently shared this with me and I really liked the idea of it so Joey and I decided to make this part of our nighttime routine.
The idea is that there is a specific word, along with a Bible verse to go along with it.
Day 1. Compassionate

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12

Day 2. Contented
“I know what is is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength” - Philippians 4:12-13

Day 3. Courageous
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

Day 4. Decisive

Loving the Little Years: Mothering in the Trenches
Loving the Little Years: Motherhood in the trenches. I loved how this book had practical moments and how she parents with constant grace!!
A Stolen Life: A Memoir
A Stolen Life: Jaycee Lee Dugard. This wasnt an easy read but a true survivor and great reminder that a rough day could be alot rougher.
The Glass Castle
The Glass Castle is a story written from an MSNBC reporter about her upbringing with a unconventional childhood.

You might be wondering how do I get this reading done, during feedings I was burned out of the tv so I loaded up with books from the library.

I don't feel guilty since they are only $1.07 with tax

4th:
This beautiful weather!!!! It has been so warm and Harper and I have been able to take multiple walks outside this week which are much better than mall walking!! Ha Ha

What We've Been Up To

Wonder where we have been???

What we have been doing???

A whole lot of one thing!!!!!

A whole lot of TEETHING Harper has about 4 of her bottom teeth coming in and there has been alot of sucking on her hand, the teething rings have a permanent place in the fridge, and bibs are a fashion staple everyday  due to the large amounts of drool that have been coming out of sweet Harper's mouth!

Besides that we are looking forward to a fun weekend since Joey has worked the past 2 Saturdays and some finishing touches for next week's big party at our house for Harper's baptism.
