Sorry I wasnt posting alot last week- I was under the weather with a cold! But I am on the mend now!!!!
Can you believe our Harper girl is 3 Months old!!
These past three months have flown by and she becomes more precious to us everyday!!!
Sleeping: She tranistioned to her crib from her bassinet a week ago and is doing great! She typically goes down for the night around 11 and sleep till 7! During the day she loves her naps and usually sleeps anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 hour stretches! She is so happy when she wakes up in the morning it Momma's favorite thing to see her smiling baby! Eating: She is our little eater and has started to do constant feedings every 2 hours! Lately she has been drooling alot more lately and I am wondering if she is starting the early stages of teething!!!!!!!
Clothing and Diapers: This past weekend I packed away all her newborn to 3 months clothing. She is so long that lots of her clothes are short on her! Good thing she got spoiled rotten this Christmas with new clothes! She is in Diaper size 2 now as well!
Some of her favorites: Being swaddled and rocked to sleep, riding in the car with the music up!!! and watching TV Some of her dislikes: being cold, doing tummy time, and getting loaded into the baby bjorn
So I decided since I spend so much time on Pinterest I need to justify it and know that my time on there and PINNING is worth it! So every so often I will be posting what I have made/created/tried on there!
Here are the Christmas things that I got from Pinterest:
Made these for the Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles and one for Mom and Dad. LOVED THEM!
Did this in my kitchen to display all the Christmas cards we got! LOVED this because I could look at them everyday!
Made these for my family one night and they liked them! The green sprinkle rim was the best! Cranberry Margaritas
Used these cute tags on Christmas gifts!
More Pinterest projects to come! What have you enjoyed making from Pinterest?

Joe and I watched the special on HGTV this past weekend and at first thought wouldnt it be great if we won, for a vacation home?" But as we saw more of the home we decided we would have to move to Park City, Utah permanetly if we WIN! Dont worry we plan to entertain LOTS so you can come and visit us!
Besides the home you get 1. A new GMC SUV 2. $500,000
How about this kitchen?
This tub has my name written all over it!!!
This room for entertaining with large french doors on either side!!! SQUEAL!
It is time for me to get back in shape and into all my clothes!
While I was pregnant with Harper I tried to eat healthy and monitor my weight gain with my widwife. In total I gained 43 pounds. 6 weeks after Harper arrived I had lost 26 of those pounds. Now 2 1/2 months later I am standing firm at the 26 pound weight lose and ready to lose the rest NOW!!! I was hoping that breastfeeding would help me lose the baby weight but unfortunately I am done nursing so I cant count on those extra calories being burnt that way so it is time for the old fashion plan to workout, and diet.
I am going to stay under 1200 calories a day! I am also doing a semi liquid diet this week to jump start my weight lose starting off with these green smoothies:
These might look gross but I made one this morning and it ROCKED!!
Here is the recipe
1/2 cup ice
2 handfuls of spinach
1 banana chopped up
1/2 cup mixed fruit
a splash of milk (i used skim)
I also am going to stick to meal planning. When you plan your meals out you stick to them rather than going from day to day.
Now for the workout. I plan to do a combination of:
HOT YOGA (once a week)
Jillan Michaels workout tapes at least 4 days a week
And then a abs, arm workout developed by a friend of mine!
Wish me luck I have exactly 75 days till I need to be in a bathing suit!
I have lots of posts planned for this week so fasten your seat belts!
First Up: RSV
On Wednesday of last week we were loading up the car to get ready to head to Albia to do Christmas with Joey's mom and brother. We had to stop for a weight check for Harper and I had noticed that she had started having a cough. We got her weight checked (which was awesome and this girl is gaining!!!) and I mentioned to the nurse the cold. She recommended that I do saline drops in her nose. We headed to Albia, had our Christmas celebration. Throughout the night she was having much more intense coughing spells. When she would cough she couldn't stop and when it did she would be weezing. It scared me throughout the night and I had a strong feeling something wasn't right. On Thursday morning Joey and I talked and decided to leave Albia early so we could get into an urgent care as quickly as possible.
Albia doesn't have an urgent care so we went to Indianola and got in around 11 on Thursday. We saw the doctor and he immediately ordered an x-ray, RSV test, and Influenza A and B test. When he was examining her he mentioned that he was uncomfortable with her cough and checked her oxygen levels which if they read at 95 they need oxygen. Harper's first reading was a 95. She headed into her xray, and they completed the other tests and we waited for the results. The doctor reported back to us that the xray showed no pneumonia and he ordered a breathing treatment for her. She was such a good girl and sucked in all that good air! We asked him what he thought we should and do and he recommended that we head home to see our own pediatrician. We called our pediatrician told him the info and he asked us to get on the road immediately. We wouldn't get into town till 530 but our pediatrician was going to wait at the office for us. After examining her he diagnosed her with RSV
RSV: Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infects most children sooner or later (usually before the age of 2). It often starts out with cold symptoms. In fact, for many babies and young children, the virus is no more troublesome than a cold.
For a few, though, mild cold symptoms (such as a runny nose, a minor cough, and a low fever) develop into a more pronounced cough, labored breathing, and sometimes wheezing. Your baby may also be irritable and restless and have a poor appetite.
It's important to call the doctor if you think your baby may have RSV, because the virus is the most common cause of two lung disorders in babies, bronchiolitis (which swells the small airways and fills them with mucus, blocking airflow) and pneumonia (an infection and inflammation of the lungs). Either of these conditions can be dangerous — even deadly — for babies, particularly those younger than 6 months
Here is our sweet girl getting her treatment at home:
So we have the breathing treatments at home and they seem to be working. Needless to say, it was a long couple of days. We are very grateful that our little girl didn't have to get hospitalized and that we had great care in Indianola and here in Davenport.
Hi I'm Erin!! I married my Mr. in 2010 and love having the title of Mrs. In 2011 I recieved another title of Momma when we welcomed our daughter Harper to the world. Hearing my daughter laugh, sipping diet coke and pinot grigio, and traveling with my hubby are just a few of my favorite things!
