BIX 2012

Ok followers I did it a whole week of blogging like promised! Whoot Whoot! And guess what next week I have even more posts coming your way like house updates this summer, pinterest project's completed and some fun Harper ones!

Last weekend though at this time we were gearing up for the BIX which we look forward to every year. It is so ironic thinking last year I did the 2 mile race with Miss Harper in my tummy and this year she was cheering on the fans with me!

The festivities started on Friday with the Haluska's of Solon arriving, and then Joey's dad and Tammy arriving. We loaded up and headed downtown so the runners could get their packets and Miss Jerzey Dawn could get registered for the 1/2 mile.

The two baby cousins chasing each other around!
Miss Jerzey walking to register for the race!
                                                 Momma and Jerzey walking together!
Getting Jerzey dressed with her number!
                                                                            Pumped!
                                                                     Harper, Grandpa and Daddy!
Jerzey did great and never stopped running he entire 1/2 mile. We were all very proud of that girl!

The next day was the big day Grandpa, Grandma and Daddy headed down to the race and Harepr and i headed to my friend's who lives right along the race so we could get up close and personal and see all the racers. It was so much fun and we were able to see daddy, grandpa, and grandma running!

After the big race we had a big cookout that night and enjoyed the festivities in downtown Davenport while Grandpa and Grandma got some special time with their girl!

We are already looking forward to the BIX next year!

Ann Arbor Art Fair (say this 5 times fast)

A few weeks ago I decided to take a long weekend trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan to visdt my Uncle Ken, Aunt Susan, and cousins Hannah and Emmett. I haven't been able to go to their house for a few years so I was due for a visit.

My grandparents decided that they wanted to go along with me and my mom took a day off work so she could attend as well, My grandparents headed up to Naperville on a Thursday afternoon, hung at her house for a few hours till she got home from work than we loaded up her things and off on the road we were. Harper did great on the trip going there because it got dark pretty quick after we started so she slept alot.

We arrived in Michigan around midnight and it was great to see everyone. During our visit we were able to see some of the kids activities which is always fun, and go to the Ann Arbor Art Fair. The art fair is so much fun and is right next ot the University of Michigan so while you are walking around you are also seeing the campus.

Here are so picture highlights from the trip

Coco, Poppy, and Hannah girl giving a big CHEESE

Harper loved listening ot this guy play music on the streets!

It was a great trip, and we look forward to our next visit with the Michigan Turner's!

Door County Part 2

After a fun 1st night in Door County we woke up to a beautiful morning on Day 2. We decided that we wanted to do some more walking around the downtown area and try a place for lunch. So we threw on some clothes and headed out in the beautiful sunshine. I must add that when we left Iowa it was 100 out and by the time we got to Wisconsin it was 87 which was really perfect weather by the water!

The place we went for lunch specializes in delicious burgers and homemade brewed beer it was delicious. Here were my buddies at lunch!

This is Door County's very on brewed Cherry Wheat!! Very delicious on a summer day!

After lunch and some walking we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding! A bus came to each hotel to pick up the guest and then took us out to the bluff that the wedding was taking place at.
Here is where the ceremony took place
                                                                Gorgeous!!!!!!!
After the ceremony we took a few steps over to the reception area that was on the bluff as well.
The Cocktail area right outside of the tent, they had high cocktail tables set-up, bags, and chairs. The stairs going down were down to the beach!
Drinks were served in these cute mason jars with a festive straw!
                                                     My lovely Mom and I
The beautiful table decor and setting!
Drink Stations
Loved these as the night went on and it got dark there were lights inside of them that turned on!

Such a wonderful time and great memories made!

Door County Part 1

A few weeks ago Joe, my mom and I headed to Door County, Wisconsin for my godsister's wedding. Many people have asked me what a godsister is. Let me explain. A godsister would be my mother's goddaugther. For years that has been how Liz(my godsister) and I have referred to each other.

Anyways, Harper went to spend the weekend with my Aunt Sue and Uncle Don and the She-She's at their lake house.

We picked up Colleen in Naperville and off we were to start the 5 hour road trip. Our first stop was in Milwaukee for a delicious lunch and a refreshing beverage.
After we filled up we were back on the road till we got to Green Bay, Wisconsin and we decided it was time to stretch our legs at one of the many wineries that were being featured. So off we went to Captain's Winery for a sampling of 9 wines, good thing it isnt much more than a sip

We were happy car-riders once we arrived at the hotel. We unpacked went through our snazy wedding bag, and then decided it was time we walked around the downtown area. It is absolutely beautiful. So many different shops, and the water is gorgeous!

At the end of the night after dinner we found a cute tiki bar that is right on the water and the name of the bar was extra special for Joey this is his grandpa name from his Zanoni side of the family!

Part 2 is up for tomorrow get ready for lots of gorgeous wedding photos!

Where We Have Been?

Good Morning,

The answer to the title of this post is two-parted EVERYWHERE and EVERYONE! Life has been super busy in last couple of weeks with big events at home and traveling along with a week without internet due to a storm at our house!

The good thing is that I am going to do a post everyday this week so it should catch up everyone on what has been going on lately.

Here are a few pictures of Harper's favorite new activity around the house! Who needs toys when you have the laundry basket she loves for me to carry her up the stairs in the laundry basket and than she lays in it when I set it on our bed to unload! This girl keeps us smiling all the time!

9 Months Old

How can my sweet girl be 9 months old already??? It has gone by so very fast!!

Harper is really becoming her own little person and everyday her personality comes through more and more.

Weight: 19.4 lbs (70th Percent)

Length: 28.3 inches (80th percent)

Diaper Size: 4

Clothes: 12 months mostly

Food: Harper is an eater!! She loves sitting in her chair and eating. We have moved to more table foods and she loves items like raspberries, veggies, shredded cheese, cottage cheese, turkey, eggs etc. She always wants to try what we are eating! She typically has cereal after her first bottle in the morning, eats some kind of stage 3 baby food when she wakes up and then again at 5ish!

Sleeping: Harper takes to napes a day. Usually the first one about 2.5 hours after she wakes up. Around 3 she goes down for her afternoon nap and sleep till 5 and usually dad is home so she gets very excited when he gets her out of her crib. Concerning her sleeping she has learned a couple of new tricks. She will through her pacis over her crib. The other day I pulled her crib out from the wall and found 5 pacis behind there! I wondered where all those pacis were going to!!!! Harper also now stands up in her crib on the end of her crib that is nearest the door and will watch us walk and then starting hooting and hollering! She is a smart little girl!

Some of Harper's favorites:
-SWIMMING!!! She loves when we go to the pool or if we fill up her own little pool in the backyard!
-Playing in the laundry basket. who needs expensive toys to play with when you can sit in the laundry basket while mom folds away all the clothes.
-Kitchen items: When I am out in the kitchen cooking Harper loves to be given some measuring cups and a pot and she makes her own little tune to music

HARPER HAS A TOOTH! On her bottom front gum it emerged almost 2 weeks ago. I was so glad ot see it had arrived because she had been working on it for so long!

Harper isn't just crawling backwards anymore! She is on the go and it has changed the game around the house! We have to watch her alot closer!

We love this sweet girl very much and are blessed with her everyday!
