Memories of My Momma

No I am not a momma. . . yet.

So when I think of being a mother one women comes to mind and that women is . . . . . My Momma!

I wanted to do a little tribute to my momma by giving here a written memory log of some of my favorite memories with her!!!!
-Although i dont remember this, watching soaps with you while you soaked me in lotion.
-The slumber parties in bed that you and I would have. Yes the crumbs in the bed are even a good thing in my memory.
-Helping me pick out my outfirst for the first day of school every year and sneaking in a note of encouragement.
-Really reading to me. So many nights you worked a full day, cooked, cleaned, ran me here and there and then you would read me a story and not just read but you would make the story come to life with voices and acting.
-Big hair, yes when I was a teenager I may have been embrassed but know I am so appreciative for you teaching me Big Hair
-Letting me cry. Enough said.
-Pushing me when I vowed I couldnt go any farther, thanks to you I pushed on.
-watching tv shows that you dont really like just so we can chit chat about it.
-Tuna melts, company cream tuna, and tuna on potatoes-only me and you.
-Teaching me to love fearlessly, some never experience this but you and I do.
- Your uncondtional and selfless love.

Yes, you are my only one You are my only Dont be leaving me now Now you're my only one.

Love you Momma!

Wedding Update

Hello Fellow Bloggers,

The past two weeks have been very busy with WEDDING stuff, making stuff for the OOT bags, planning our bachellorette/bachelor party, tastings, floral appointments, etc!!

And what fun it has been. Today I received my shower invitation in the mail and it hit me like a ton of bricks. . . I AM GETTING MARRIED.
Now it wasn't in a bad way but in a GREAT way!!!!

At first when I started writing this blog I thought I would do snapshots of the projects I am working on but I decided to post the below list. I found this on a fellow bloggers site and it moved me so much I forwarded it to Joey and we discussed over dinner. If you are getting married it is a great read, if you are married an even better one.

What does it take to have a great marriage:
  1. Make time to get away with your spouse and fully talk through your issues without attacking each other.
  2. Simplify your life so that you have time for what is REALLY important (not hobbies, meaningful time together)
  3. Romance takes time and effort. Force yourself to think of creative ways to express your love for one another.
  4. Confess your sin, arrogance, and selfishness before the Lord who made you and gave you one another.
  5. Set aside time each day for a meaningful discussion with your mate.
  6. Live each day as it was your last with each other-one day it will be.
  7. If your spouse died today would you spend the rest of your life feeling guilty because you allowed the small things in life to separate you?
  8. If your spouse died today, would they go into eternity knowing how crazy in love you were with them?
  9. If your spouse died today would your conscience be clear that every disagreement between you had been worked out with mutual forgiveness?
  10. If your spouse died today could you say that you never kept anything from them? Would you be completely guilt free and face the rest of your life without regret?

A Golden Day

Hello Fellow Bloggers,

Well yesterday was the big day. My Golden Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I turned 26 on April 26th!!!!!!

Ever since I was a little girl, my momma has made birthdays on all out celebration. Whether it was decorations, parties, or gifts she did it all.

Yesterday was no different. The day started off at work when I got to my desk it was completly decorated and filled with 26 balloons. My team then had a spread of snacks, gifts, and cards. They took me out for lunch to my favorite new resturant as well. During the afternoon I was called down to security to pick something up. To my GREAT surpirse was a beautiful arrangement of flowers from my dear Iowa family Adam, Kendra, and Jerzey. The card (from Adam) reall made my day it said Happy 30th!!!!!!!! This will be your last birthday as a single lady!!!!! Dont you Love it??????? THANK YOU GUYS I LOVE YOU After that I headed home for the day and enjoyed an ice cold DIET COKE!!

After that I headed to my spin class- yes I worked out on my birthday and it was so worth it!! Joey then asked me to be ready at 6:30. He drove me around to several resturants and finally we ended up at Granite CIty one of my favorites. The Hostess took us back to a table and to my SURPISE, Joey had arranged a surprise dinner party with some of our great friends!!!!!!!!!!

Isnt he great!!!!!!!!

My Beautiful gift from Joe- Michael Kors watch!!!!!!!

Thank you to all my friends and family who made my day special yesterday!!!!! I am completly blessed that you are all in my life!

Celebration!!!!!

I have been a bad blogger lately. My only real excuse is that with the wedding approaching, I have been spending my free time with the planning, This past weekend we headed to Naperville for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. Friday we got packed up and on the road late. We didn't pull into my mom's driveway until 12:30. When we got there we brought our bags in and to my mom told me I had a my first gift to open. She told me it was upstairs I checked my bedroom, her bedroom, one of the guest bedrooms and I didn't see anything, then she pointed me to the other bedroom and to my GREAT surprise:Isn't she just a beauty, this is Madeline my godbaby. My mom, aunt, and uncle were good enough to let me spend some quality time with each other. Don't you just love how she is asleep!!!

The next day we headed out for a day of shopping, we started with a late breakfast, then headed to a store called IKEA. We scored BIG for the wedding with lots of vases and great decor. After that we headed to the mall for some shopping. Joey was so great he and Madeline headed to the fountain so my mom and I could run into a few stores. When we found them they were laughing and had treats.

My aunt was good so gracious and kind and had us all over for a lovely birthday dinner. Which included great food, delicious wine, and lots of laughs.

Grace, Caroline, and Molly the new dog to the Turner family

Spring is Here!

Spring is Here!!!

I am overjoyed with it's arrival!!!!!

Here are a few of my favorite things about Spring:

- The warm air blowing through my open windows in the car singing along to my favorite song.

- The sight of green emerging from the ground.

-The smell of grills cooking.

-The image of fathers coaching their sons little league teams.

-Wrigley laying under the tree soaking in the sun.

-Sitting on the front porch watching a thunderstorm.

-The idea of corn stuck in between my teeth

-The arrival of flowers, and plants.

-The sounds of neighbors pouring in through the windows.

-Long days of sunshine

Hope everyone is enjoying their Spring!
